Message from Thorsten Bluhm, President of DBG Dr Bluhm GmbH

Dear friends in the Middle East,

25 years ago – in 1984 – I founded DBG Dr Bluhm GmbH. Many years have passed in which we have worked together. During my numerous trips to your countries, I have come to know your eminent hospitality, and I have won many friends. For this, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude.

You have always agreed with me on the fundamental principles of any fruitful collaboration, “mutual trust” and “live and let live”. For this, too, I would like to thank you.

Often our collaboration was influenced by global political and economic irritations; but, together, we have succeeded in bridging those difficulties.

The motivation for DBG’s business activities in the Middle East has never been merely commercial. Rather, I have also been guided in my business activities by superior concerns:

• To extend the knowledge of and thereby the effectiveness of measures for environmental protection and
• To reduce environmental destruction in the Middle East

I am, moreover, firmly convinced that our collaboration

• exerted a positive influence on the traditionally amiable German-Arabic and German-Iranian relations
• heightened the awareness of our mutual dependence and the disadvantage of closed societies and
• thereby fostered qualities of co-operation which help to secure peace.

Even if our contribution may seem small, I am proud that we could indeed contribute.

We will continue our successful collaboration, “So Gott will”, “Insha’Allah”.
